Investigation paper of Najib violating SOP referred to Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR – The police had completed the investigation on Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who failed to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) of entering a restaurant without scanning the MySejahtera code and recording his body temperature.

The investigation paper will be referred to the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department’s Prosecution and Legal Division (D5) for further action today.

The Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said that after getting the approval of D5, it would be referred to the Attorney-General for further action.

“We have completed the investigation on Datuk Seri Najib Razaks’ case, who confessed to violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of MCO and dined at a restaurant without scanning and recording his body temperature.

“It will be referred to D5 Bukit Aman today for further action on the case.

“Upon the agreement of D5, it will be sent to the Attorney-General for further action, if there is an order to issue a compound, we will do it.

“Previously, Tan Sri Annuar Musa was also issued a compound for violation the MCO SOP,” he told the journalists when asked about the development of the case.

Mohamad Zainal, on 20 March explained that an investigation paper on the former Prime Minister was opened under Section 21A Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas)(Movement Control)(No. 4) 2021.

The action was taken following a viral video showing Najib violating the SOP of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) at a Restaurant in Jalan Bukit Bintang that raked various public reaction.

Najib also confessed that he had violated the SOP at the stated restaurant and wanted a compound to be issued against him. –MalaysiaGazette
