KUALA LUMPUR – A businessman was arrested by the police in less than 24 hours after assaulting two of his bodyguards for fasting.
The suspect also allegedly pointed a pistol and threatened to kill the two victims.
The man, named Chung also caused blood clots and bruises on the body of the victims.
The suspect had allegedly questioned the 26-year-old complainant and his friend while they were in a condominium by asking, “Do you all fast?”
The suspect slapped and knocked their heads with a mobile phone after the two victims answered, “Yes.”
The incident took place at the lobby of One KL Condominium Complex, Jalan Pinang at 10.00 pm on Tuesday (13 April), said the Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Zainal Abdullah.
He said, the police received the report from the victim at around 3.00 am this morning and an investigation paper has been opened under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code.
“According to the case fact, the employer named Chung, who is also the suspect asked the victim and his friend if they were fasting.
“After the complainant told him that they were fasting, the suspect scolded the complainant and slapped his head. The complainant and his colleague then followed the suspect back to his house in Batu Nilam, Klang, Selangor,” he added.
Upon reaching the suspect’s house, the complainant and his friend were assaulted with a cane, punched, kicked and being pointed with a pistol.
Due to the incident, the two victims suffered bruises at their back and they seek treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
He added, based on preliminary police investigation, the victims work under a security company, GMP Kaisar Sekuriti Sdn Bhd. The duo has been appointed as the bodyguard to the 43-year-old suspect.
The complainant has worked for the suspect for three years, meanwhile, his partner has worked for seven years.
Mohamad Zainal said, the incident happened as the suspect did not like the two victims to fast during the Ramadan and he forced them not to fast.
“After the complainant refused to take the order, the suspect was dissatisfied and started slapping their heads numerous times at the condominium.
“It was even more disheartening that the suspect’s employees also took the opportunity to assault the complainant and his partner when they were in the suspect’s house in Batu Nilam, Klang by using a cane, causing blood clots and bruises on the complainant.
“At that house, the suspect seized a Glock pistol from the complainant’s partner and pointed the weapon at the complainant while threatening to kill him,” he said.
The suspect was arrested at around 8.20 pm and was brought to the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters for further action. –MalaysiaGazette
