Mockery led to fight at Rawang restaurant

GOMBAK – Two groups of men were exchanging mockery at a restaurant and it escalated into throwing glass bottles, fight and injuries.

According to the Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Arifai Tarawe, the 1.00 am incident took place at a restaurant in Rawang, after a 29 year-old victim was drinking with his friends.

A misunderstanding happened with another group of men due to the mockery between them.

A ruckus happened after that group of men started throwing glass bottles on their table towards the complainant and his friends.

“In return, the victim and his friends also threw glass bottles at that group, followed by a fight.

“However, the victim asked his friends to leave before the fight further escalate to become worse,” he said.

Due to the incident, the victim suffered light injury on his left hand and chest.

Based on the police report lodged by the victim, the Gombak police had tracked and arrested eight local men aged between 23 and 29 to assist into the investigation.

All suspects have been arrested between 1.30 pm until 8.30 pm last night.

Four suspects were arrested while they gave their statements at the Gombak District Police Headquarters while four others surrendered themselves.

He said, the police are hunting several other suspects.
