KUALA LUMPUR – The government has decided to use the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine for individuals aged 18 and above who voluntarily want to get that vaccine.
Coordinating Minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said, the vaccination could be made through a special programme and not via the PICK.
According to Khairy, the vaccine would be given through the first come first serve concept.
“However, we will make a health assessment first and finding that they are eligible, they would be given the vaccine,” he said during a news conference today.
Khairy explained that the Special Committee on COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) made the ruling after finding public concerns on the efficacy of the vaccine. –MalaysiaGazette
