PETALING JAYA – An unemployed man was charged at the Magistrate Court for murdering and sodomising a nine-month-old baby boy.
The accused, Mohamed Badruldin Mohamed, 36, was brought to the court at 10.15 am with his hands cuffed under police escort.
He was charged for committing the offence between 8.00am until 3.00 pm at Lembah Subang 1 People’s Housing Project, Taman Putra Damai, Jalan PJU1A/42 in Petaling Jaya.
According to the charge paper, Mohamed Badruldin murdered the nine-month-old baby and the charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code. He faces the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
No plea was recorded from Mohamed Badruldin after the first charge was read to him before Magistrate Muhammad Iskandar Zainol as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
According to the second charge, the accused was charged for voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature on another person by inserting his private part into the anus of the victim without consent.
However, he pleaded not guilty on the sodomy charge under Section 377C of the Penal Code. He shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than five years and not more than twenty years, and shall also be liable to whipping upon conviction.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Alison Chan May Kam, meanwhile the accused was unrepresented.
He was not allowed bail and the court set 15 June for the mention of the two cases. –MalaysiaGazette
