KUALA LUMPUR – The police will investigate on the allegation of Neelofa not wearing face mask at the Seremban Courts Complex yesterday.
The Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Said Ibrahim said, they received a police report about Neelofa or her real name, Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor.
“A police report was received for the violation of standard operating procedures (SOP) of wearing face mask as it has been made compulsory by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on everyone.
“This includes those who wear full or half niqab,” he said in a media statement today.
According to Mohd Said, the investigation will be made as the MOH has issued a guideline on the compulsory wearing of face mask in all public spaces beginning 1 August.
Therefore, an investigation will be made according to Section 269 of the Penal Code (Act 574) and Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.
“The police will not compromise and will take action to ensure all SOP determined by the National Security Council and regulations by the MOH is adhered at all time,” he said.
