KUALA LUMPUR – Five diners and the owner of an eatery was fined for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) during the total lockdown, said, the Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department Chief, Senior Assistant Commissioner Datuk Azman Ayob.
He said inspections by a team of police involved in the MCO Special Operation that was inspecting a six-storey business complex in the capital city yesterday found that the five diners were dining in at the premise and have violated the SOP of Movement Control Order, that does not allow anyone to dine in at any eatery.
“Without compromise, the compounds were issued against all of them amounting to RM20,000 over offences under Regulation 16 P.U (A) 243/2021 (MCO).

“According to the breakdown, each diner was fined RM2,000, meanwhile, the owner of the premise was fined RM10,000 for allowing customers to eat in the restaurant,” he said in a statement today.
According to him, such inspections will continue nationwide at all time.
“Stern actions will be taken against anyone who violates the SOP of MCO to ensure that we can successfully break the Covid-19 chain,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
