KUALA LUMPUR – A special conference with the Malay Rulers will be held at Istana Negara on 16 June.
The Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has stated his intention to hold the discussion.
“The special conference with the Malay Rulers is at the initiative of Seri Paduka Baginda and it will be chaired by His Majesty,” he said in a statement today.
According to that statement, the discussion will revolve around the efforts to combat Covid-19 pandemic and its implementation during the emergency period.
That would also mark the second sitting at Istana Negara since Al-Sultan Abdullah took the reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia on 31 January 2019.
The first special Malay Rulers conference was held on 25 October last year in Istana Negara.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was among the main political party leaders who had an audience with the Agong at Istana Negara. It was then followed by the Opposition Chief cum President of PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. – MalaysiaGazette
