KUALA LUMPUR – The President of UMNO Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi did not discuss about the National Operations Council (Mageran) during his audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
“We did not discuss about that (Mageran). I said that that is not something normal and it is beyond it as the emergency should encompass it all,” he told the journalists waiting outside Gate 2 of Istana Negara after having an audience with the King.
Yesterday, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad suggested to set up Mageran during his audience with the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong.
The Chairman of Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (PEJUANG) said, the suggestion was presented as he is confident that it would resolve economic, political, social and health issues faced by the government due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
