KUALA LUMPUR – The situation at a restaurant in Kepong turned upheaval yesterday when a man suddenly collapsed and died while buying his food.
The incident happened at around 4.00 pm yesterday, said the Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai.
The police received a distress call from MERSS 999 about the death at a restaurant in Taman Sri Bintang, Kepong.
“Investigation at the scene found that the deceased, who is also a lorry conductor did not sustain any external physical injury and there was no sign of criminal element.
“He came to the restaurant to pack his food and drinks at around 3.30 pm.
“While waiting for the food he ordered, he suddenly fell from his seat and went unconscious,” he said in a statement today.
Eng Lai said, the restaurant owner contacted the hospital and the man was pronounced dead by the Assistant Medical Officer from the Kuala Lumpur Hospital who rushed to the location to check on the victim.
The deceased is known as Cheah Kum Seng, 49 and lived in Taman Sri Kepong Baru.
A post-mortem was conducted early this morning and the caused of his death was ischemic heart disease. The case is classified as sudden death,” said Eng Lai. –MalaysiaGazette
