KUALA LUMPUR – 2.3 million doses of vaccine have been administered to the people in Selangor through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), the highest number for a state in Malaysia.
Its Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said that the numbers did not include the Selangor Vaccine Programme (SelVAXX) that recorded 57,339 doses.
“Meanwhile, 12% of the population in Selangor have completed 2 doses of vaccine.
“Alhamdullilah, the daily vaccination rate yesterday has reached 114,416 doses, not inclusive of the SelVAX programme that has reached almost 58,000 doses since its kick-off,” he Twitted today.
From the 11,618 new Covid-19 positive cases recorded nationwide, 5,051 cases were from Selangor.
Besides that, Selangor also recorded 46 deaths out of the 118 Covid-19 deaths recorded yesterday.
According to Amirudin, the vaccination rate in the state would be increased from time to time.
Meanwhile, he also shared that the vaccine usage rate in Selangor is at 78 percent, based on the supplies received from the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF).
He added, appointments have been issued out for the remaining 618,000 vaccines over the period of seven days taking into consideration that the daily vaccination rate has reached 115,000 doses. –MalaysiaGazette
