KUALA LUMPUR – Everyone, including political party members need to be wiser when criticising the government in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said, in a democratic country, everyone has their rights in voicing out their opinion, including in criticising the government. Nevertheless, it must be done wisely.
He said, the Covid-19 pandemic is a serious and extraordinary matter that needs to be given attention.
“We are facing a very serious pandemic, extraordinary, and I hope that everyone would be wise in voicing our opinion so that it can help us solve this massive problem,” he said during a hybrid Mental Health Programme when answering the journalist’s question on the Kerajaan Gagal campaign mobilised by certain political parties to urge the government to step down.
“We can say anything we want but it must be based on facts and science with the purpose of improving the situation.
“Perhaps, I am a politician who can talk very well and I argue in length, but, in the end, the people would evaluate if what I say can help to solve the problem,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
