IPOH – The Perak Police had handed over the report on Ipoh Barat Member of Parliament (MP), M. Kula Segaran, who alleged received a message with corruption element to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The Chief Police of Perak Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that the police received a report from the private secretary of the MP at 1.56 pm last Saturday.
Based on the police report, the individual alleged that he received a message with corruption element from two unknown numbers on Friday at about 10.30 pm.
“We have sent the report to the state MACC for investigation and further action. Besides Perak, two other police reports were also lodged in Kedah and Penang on the same matter,” he said in a statement today.
Therefore, Mior Faridalathrash advised the public not to make any speculations on the case as it is still under MACC’s investigation.
Last Saturday, M. Kula Segaran alleged that an unknown individual has offered him rewards if he gives his support to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
The National Vice-Chairman of DAP and former Minister of Human Resources said that the offer was made via WhatsApp message to his secretary, Jeremy Chua’s phone on Friday.
He alleged that the offer, among others, mentioned a reward amounting to RM30 million, the position as a minister besides other incentives.
Meanwhile, the Perak MACC Director, Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohamad said that the commission will record the statement from the MP soon.
“We have received the referral case from the police and investigation is ongoing,” said Mohd Fauzi to MalaysiaGazette. –MalaysiaGazette
