KUALA LUMPUR – The Home Ministry will take stern actions on anyone who tries to bribe the Members of Parliament (MPs) from Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Its Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that he has given the order to the police to conduct thorough investigation on all reports.
“Besides referring the reports to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, investigation will also be made to determine the authenticity of the allegations.
“The Ministry will ensure stern actions without compromise on anyone proven to have committed criminal offence, including those who lodge fake police report and slander,” he said in a statement today.
The statement was issued after several MPs from PH received WhatsApp messages with corruption element.
Earlier the Setiawangsa MP, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that he is one of the opposition MPs who received Lenggong and Parit Sulong ‘durian’ offers.
The PKR leader said that he received the ‘durian’ offer through a WhatsApp message last Saturday.
According to him, the message involved a RM3.5 million offer in government allocation and he also received another offer last week.
Although several opposition MPs have lodged police report on the matter, Nik Nazmi is still studying and discussing about the offer with a legal advisor, if there is a need to lodge a police report. –MalaysiaGazette
