KUALA LUMPUR – The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun denied that he has written a letter to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin informing him that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government has lost its majority.
He said that the report by a news portal is untrue and fake.
Azhar quoated the report with Suara.TV’s logo entitled ‘Prime Minister Receives Letter from Speaker about Losing Majority and Dissolving Parliament’ today.
The report said that Azhar, as the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat has informed Muhyiddin that the government under his leadership has lost its majority.
“I deny the news report and wish to state that I have never issued any letter to the Prime Minister as reported. That is a fake news,” he said in a statement today.
However, the news portal denied that it published the news and insisted that the article used a fake logo of the news portal. –MalaysiaGazette
