PENANG – A dentist working at a vaccination centre (PPV) expressed his dissatisfaction on the various attitude of the people, including their excessive demands during Covid-19 vaccination.
Dr. Low Ting Ting, 27, from Jitra, Kedah shared that the healthcare workers are bombarded by various of weird requests daily that trouble them and slow down the vaccination process.
She, who is working in Ipoh, Perak said that during a drive-through vaccination, some people are overly engrossed with making video recording that they released their brake while the doctor’s head was still in the car.
“Some turned on their camera but they did not fully bring their vehicle into a stop and some released their brake without realising that my head was still in the car.
“Such incidences happened for at least 10 times. I came here to provide vaccination not to get my head chopped off,” she shared about her experience in that PPV for 10 days as quoted by Sinchew Daily.
According to Ting Ting, she finally realised why so many frontliners are giving up hopes as they face too many selfish people every day.
Due to the fake vaccination earlier, many people are raising questions, including the authenticity of the vaccine that they got.
“The healthcare workers are asked to show them the syringe and explain about the doses. However, I will not show the process of drawing vaccine as it would affect the whole process if everyone asks to do so.
“As a minority Chinese doctor in the PPV, the volunteers will ask for my help when they are faced with the people who stubbornly insist on seeing the whole process. Under such circumstances, I would have to stop everything that I am doing to provide the explanation to them.
“This is not a dimsum restaurant and I do not want to do a demonstration as how the restaurants would demonstrate the way to make xiaolongbao.
“If you are afraid of being injected with fake vaccine, please go to a private clinic and buy your vaccine, or register as a volunteer to understand the whole process,” she said.
She also added that the people who wish to record the process should also request for permission and only record their own hand and not the picture of the healthcare workers on duty.
According to her, they must also be ready with their recording devices as the healthcare workers sometimes need to wait for the people to turn on their camera and it slows down the vaccination process.
Ting Ting said, while some people ask too much questions, certain people knows nothing about vaccination.
“Besides the senior citizens, some people who come for their second dose do not know what vaccine they got during their first dose.
“Some forgot or made mistakes. Such situation create confusion for us,” she said.
She said, certain people demand for certain brand of vaccine while many others don’t even wear their face mask right. –MalaysiaGazette
