JAWI – The Penang Police had successfully solved a rape, sodomy and murder case of a woman in less than three hours.
The murder case was revealed after the neighbour of the victim saw a suspicious man at the compound of the victim’s double-storey house in Taman Seruling Emas, Sungai Jawi yesterday.
The naked body of the woman was found under her bed after her family requested the police’s assistance to inspect her house as she could not be contacted.
MalaysiaGazette was told that there are four rooms in that double-story house and the 40-year-old victim was found in her bedroom at the ground floor.
The Seberang Perai Selatan District Police Chief, Superintendent Lee Chong Chern said that the police received a report from the public on the discovery of the victim’s dead body under the bed at 7.20 pm. A team of police was rushed to the location immediately.
Based on preliminary information, a witness alleged that she was supposed to meet the victim at 3.00 pm before she saw a man leaving the house on a motorcycle.
“The witness informed the victim’s sister about the incident before her sister ordered their close friend to make inspect her sister’s house.
“Upon arriving at the location, her friend saw that the victim’s house door was opened and immediately contacted the Sungai Bakap Police Station.
“The police from the station went to make a joint-inspection and they found the dead victim laying under the bed and her house was in a mess,” he said when contacted by MalaysiaGazette today.
According to him, based on police intelligence from the Serious Crime Investigation Department (D9) Contingent and the Seberang Perai Selatan District Police Headquarters, they have successfully tracked and arrested the suspect involved in the case.
“The 29-year-old suspect was arrested at Changkat Sungai Jawi confessed that he had syabu before trespassing the victim’s house at 3.00 am by climbing her back fence and entered through the window.
“The suspect went to the victim who was sleeping before raping and sodomising her. The suspect stuffed an underwear into the victim’s mouth and covered her mouth with his hand as she was trying to resist and scream.
“Several moments later, the victim stopped moving and is suspected to have died. The suspect however continued to rape and sodomise the victim several times after that,” he said.
Chong Chern added, the suspect then hid her body under the bed before fleeing with her cash, mobile phone and a pendent.
“The forensics took 25 samples at the location.
“Investigation also found that the suspect has five previous criminal and drugs related records.
“The body of the victim was brought to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for autopsy and the case is investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” said Chong Chern. –MalaysiaGazette
