BUTTERWORTH – A herdsman is charged at the Magistrate Court (Municipal) today over the murder of a woman at her house in Taman Seruling Emas, Sungai Bakap on 28 August.
However, no plea was recorded from the accused, M. Kirubakaran, 29, after the charges were read to him before Magistrate Aziana Azib.
He was charged for committing murder and causing the death of Lee Ling Tee, 40 in a house at Jalan Permatang Ara, Taman Seruling Emas, Sungai Bakap between 3.00 am and 4.00 am on 28 August.
The charge was framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Meanwhile, at the same court, the accused pleaded guilty on two counts of charges for administering methaphetamine and amphetamine drugs into his body at the Criminal Investigation Department of the Seberang Perai Selatan District Police Headquarters at around 1.00 am on 29 August.
The two counts of charges were framed under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the maximum fine of RM5,000 or imprisonment of not more than two years upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurameera Shahrul Azrin handled the prosecution, meanwhile, the accused was unrepresented.
The case will be mentioned again on 8 November while waiting for the pathology and autopsy report. The accused was not allowed bail.
On 28 August, MalaysiaGazette reported that the Penang Police has successfully solve a rape, sodomy and murder case of a woman in less than three hours.
The murder was exposed after the public and neighbour of the victim saw a suspicious man in the victim’s double-storey house compound at Taman Seruling Emas.
The naked body of the clerk was found under her bed after her family requested the help of the police to inspect the residence after she could not be contacted.
Following that, the police managed to arrest the 29-year-old suspect who was hiding approximately six kilometres from the location. –MalaysiaGazette
