Remaining 27,627 e-hailing drivers to get one-off RM500 aid this Friday

KUALA LUMPUR – The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) is in the process of channeling the one-off RM500 cash aid to 27,627 e-hailing drivers who have yet to receive the payment.

The payment is part of the allocation from Pemerkasa+ initiative for eligible e-hailing drivers community. 56,092 e-hailing drivers are eligible for the cash assistance.

Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said that the aid has been channeled to APAD on 3 September.

“APAD is processing the payment the bank appointed by the government – Hong Leong Bank, and the payment will be auto-credited into the bank accounts of 27,627 drivers from this Friday, 10 September 2021 onwards,” he said in a statement today.

MOT apologised for the late payment of the financial aid.

“Truly, MOT is always committed in ensuring the welfare of e-hailing drivers and hope that this RM500 can help to lighten the financial burdens of e-hailing drivers in facing the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
