KUALA LUMPUR – Discounts on the repayment of the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) would be granted to the borrowers from 1 November 2021 until 30 April 2022.
Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the 15 percent discount will be given for the full settlement of the loan balance.
Meanwhile, 12 percent discount would be given for the settlement of at least 50 percent of the loan in a single payment. At the same time, 10 percent discount would be given for scheduled direct debit or salary cut payment.
“It is a mandatory responsibility for borrowers to repay their loan. Otherwise, it would deny the opportunity of our children in the future.
“To facilitate the repayment process and to cultivate a sense of responsibility, the government has agreed to grant discounts for PTPTN repayment from 1 November 2021 until 30 April 2022,” he said during the tabulation of Budget 2022 at the Dewan Rakyat today. -MalaysiaGazette
