GURUN – The man who killed his mother by slashing her throat was found dead after he was ran over by a tanker lorry at Kampung Batu 5 today.
The body of Sarah Jon, 70, was found in her living room, meanwhile, the suspect’s body was found on the road approximately one kilometre away from their home.
The 31-year-old suspect, who was also Sarah’s youngest son ran away with a motorcycle after killing his mother before he committed suicide by ramming into a tanker lorry that was travelling on the same road.
The Kuala Muda District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said that the police received information on the tragic incident at 7.30 am this morning from civilians after they found the dead bodies.
The police found a 12cm slash mark on the woman’s neck, believed to be done by the suspect using a knife.
“Besides that, the woman also sustained injuries on her right arm and left ear. She was probably defending herself while being attacked by her youngest son among four children.
“Following that, we also received information on the suspect’s body, that was ran over by a lorry,” he said.
According to Adzli, further investigation found that the mother and son were quarreling before the incident.
“They lived in that house and their neighbours heard them quarreling last night.
“Further inspection in that house found drugs and equipment to consume the drugs. There was no sign of break-in.
The suspect was a rubber tapper, mental health patient and had six previous drug records. The bodies of the mother and son were brought to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post-mortem. -MalaysiaGazette
