KUALA LUMPUR – The flood danger warning siren was sounded 16 times at the Taman Sri Muda 2 siren station on 18 December last year, said the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (JPS).
Besides that, the warning siren was also played six times at the same siren station.
Taman Sri Muda was among the badly affected areas in Selangor during the huge flood following continuous downpour.
JPS said, the warning siren at the Taman Sri Muda 2 siren station was played from 10.30 am, meanwhile, the danger siren was played from 12.30 pm until 8.00 pm.
For the siren station at Taman Sri Muda 3, the warning and danger sirens were sounded 10 times.
The warning siren at that station started at 2.00 am until 7.00 am, before the danger siren was played from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm.
JPS also said that several flood operations were mobilized at Taman Sri Muda, such as, reducing the water level of Klang River which started on 20 December. -MalaysiaGazette
