KUALA LUMPUR – Behind the demonstrations and the submission of memorandum by the Keadlian Youth (AMK) today, a tweet by the Member of Parliament (MP) of Lembah Pantai, Fahmi Fadzi captured the attention of MalaysiaGazette today.
Earlier, Fahmi uploaded a Tweet with the caption, ‘Undur Azam’ (Step down, Azam). Intriguingly the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) retweeted his tweet, asking for its Chief Commissioner to resign.

The retweet attracted the attention of netizens who could not believe their eyes after the MACC stated their support for Azam on 9 January.
In a statement, the anti-graft agency said that the attacks against Azam were politically motivated and it’s a form of political revenge to tarnish the image and credibility of the MACC.
In a tweet, Amirlala wrote, “MACC retweets?”
Another netizen, fauzimmm also questioned the post, “Got hacked?
Earlier today, 23 organisations joined forces and submitted a Memorandum from the People to Save MACC at the entrance of the Parliament.
They made eight demands, including to suspend the Chief Commissioner of the organisation, Tan Sri Azam Baki from his duties.
The memorandum allegedly aimed to save MACC and return the faith of the people in the efforts of fighting corruption was submitted to the Opposition Chief, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
It was also attended by several opposition MPs such as the President of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), Mohamad Sabu; MP of Pandan, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail; Maszlee Malik (Simpang Renggam); Fahmi Fadzil (Lembah Pantai); Maria Chin Abdullah (Petaling Jaya – PH); Teresa Kok (Seputeh – PH); Fuziah Salleh (Kuantan); Datuk Mahfuz Omar (Pokok Sena – Amanah) and P.
