KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia witnessed the latest Covid-19 development of 5,720 new cases as of this afternoon.
Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that the figure shifted the cumulative Covid-19 cases in the country to 2,887,780 to date.
Meanwhile, 3,968 cases have recovered from the pandemic today, with a cumulative recoveries of 2,794,354 cases.
“114 cases required treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 85 cases have been verified as Covid-19 cases, meanwhile, 29 cases are still under investigation with the possibility of being Covid-19.
“There were 56 cases that required respiratory support. 39 have been confirmed as Covid-19, meanwhile, 17 cases are suspected to be Covid-19,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, he also revealed that 43 cases were in Category 3, 4 and 5, meanwhile, 5,690 cases were in Category 1 and 2.
There were also 183 imported cases while 5,677 were local infections.
There were a total of 6,457 clusters, 15 of them were new clusters and 6,125 clusters have ended. The total of active clusters in the country is 322 cases.
“MOH (Ministry of Health) wishes to advise the people to continue to obey the health recommendations and advice of 3C (avoid close-contact setting, crowded places and confined and enclosed spaces), practice 3W (wash, wear and warn), practice TRISS (trace, report, isolate, inform and seek).
“Get Covid-19 vaccines to reduce serious infection risk and the number of deaths,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
