GEORGE TOWN – A man stabbed his wife with a knife before jumping off from their house on the 12th floor of an apartment at Paya Terubong today.
The 54-years-old man was found covered in blood on the ground floor of the apartment before they alarmed the police at 7.38 am this morning.
The Acting Timur Laut Police Chief, Superintendent V. Saravanan said that the police received a report five hours later, from the daughter of a female senior citizen who is the wife of the suicide victim stating that she could not contact her mother and her house was locked from the inside.
Acting on that report, the police rushed to the location and found the 46 years-old woman covered in blood on her bed in a bedroom.
“Police and forensics examination found two stab wounds on her neck and thigh.
“We do not reject the possibility that the suspect stabbed his wife before jumping off the building.
“Besides that, further inspection also found the knife believed to be used to kill the victim,” he told the journalists at crime scene.
The couple were factory workers at Bayan Lepas.
According to Saravanan, the tragedy could be caused by misunderstanding between the couple and they were the only people around at home.
“Investigation found that the couple had an 18 years-old daughter who was at her grandmother’s house in Air Itam when the incident happened.
“The case has been classified as solved and we have sent the bodies to the Penang Hospital for autopsy,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
