MUAR – Nornekman Osman, the eldest son of former Kempas State Assemblyman, Datuk Osman Sapian vowed to continue his father’s legacy in the area.
Nornekman said, he has been shouldering Osman’s duties left behind by his late father since December last year.
“After my father passed away last December, I returned and visited the area, settled unexecuted programmes and matters pertaining the staff. I took over the responsibility and settled outstanding work in Kempas,” he told MalaysiaGazette today.
The President of Parti Pejuang Tanahair (Pejuang) announced Nornekman as the representative of the party for the Kempas State Assembly seat to contest during the coming Johor state election.
He is among the 42 candidates announced by Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir during an event in Muar today.
Yesterday, Pejuang said that it would place 42 candidates out of the 56 seats offered in Johor.
“I have wanted to be involved with the politics for a long time. When my father was still serving in Kempas, I was given the opportunity in Kedah. So, I think, that was his terms of wanting me to seek knowledge and experience outside first before coming back to serve in Johor,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
