KUALA LUMPUR – The pandemic phase will transit into endemic this Friday, witnessing the reopening of international border and interstate travel without any restriction.

Therefore, the people are urged to obey the MyCHAMPION which emphasised on continuous education by practicing the new normal and obeying the standard operating procedures (SOP).

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the measure is important as the Muslims will be celebrating Ramadan, followed by the Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

“It requires the commitment of MyCHAMPION in ensuring that the people are continuously educated with the new normal practices and obeying the SOP. At the same time, it reminds the community to practise TRIIS.

“TRIIS is self-test if there are symptoms, report the negative or positive self-test result in the MySejahtera application, self-isolation if tested Covid-19 positive and obey the Surveillance Order.

“The people are also encouraged to do self-monitoring at home and observe the self-isolation procedures, inform their close contacts and report to the authorities via MySejahtera and get immediate treatment at the healthcare facilities of Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) if their symptoms worsen,” he said in a news release today.

He said, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will also work with the World Health Organization (WHO) to implement the Champion Against Covid-19 Campaign in April.

The campaign is a new approach to provide opportunities to MyCHAMPION to educate individuals, family members, friends and community in their virtual social network by spreading health information that are very relevant to the endemic transition phase.

Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham also said that the MOH has introduced the national health agenda, Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat (ANMS) which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on 11 November last year.

“ANMS aims to turn Malaysians into a healthy community by focussing on four thrusts namely, healthy lifestyle, practising new normal and SOP, promoting a clean environment and taking vaccine and booster dose.

“One of the main components under the ANMS is the MyCHAMPION development programme, which strengthens the health of Keluarga Malaysia, especially in the education and promotion of health and wellbeing.

“This is an evolution to the community strengthening programme conducted by MOH earlier,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
