GEORGE TOWN – The Penang State Government announced its Special Financial Aid (BKK) of RM1,200 or half month’s salary to all civil servants of the state.

Its Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow said that the approval was given during the State Government Council Meeting (MMK) yesterday.

A half month salary or the minimum of RM1,200 payment will be made to 7,114 civil servants of the state on 27 April.

“The gift is also extended to all local authorities (PBT) and State Statutory Bodies.

“BKK is a special appreciation to all civil servants who have contributed during the Covid-19 period earlier.

“Besides that, it is also a preparation to celebrate a more meaningful Syawal this year,” he said in a media statement today.

Kon Yeow added, the BKK has a financial implication of about RM7.35 million to the state government.

“It includes RM300 which will be channeled to all Al-Quran and Fardu Ain Classs (KAFA) teachers and supervisors, teachers and staff from people’s primary religious schools (SRAR), teachers and staff from people’s secondary religious schools (SMAR), government assisted religious schools (SABK) and the teachers and staff of private Chinese schools in Penang.
