KUALA LUMPUR – Sessions Court Judge, Izralizam Sanusi gave a stern warning to the public and court officers not to issue any comment or post about the case involving Down Syndrome teenager, Bella and the founder of Rumah Bonda, Siti Bainun Ahd Razali.

Izralizam also mocked those who made posts related to the case as trying to get followers in the social media and their comments are slanderous in nature, sub judice and is a form of contempt to the court which should be kept to themselves.

He said, those comments and posts could disrupt the flow of the case.

“Do not make disruptive comments. The fifth witness has not finished and the comments are excessive against the accused who has not been proven guilty. Our journey is still far and we will be summoning other witnesses.

“So, keep your comments that are contempt of court, sub judice and slanderous to yourself. Do not spread them to get followers and such. It is read by people and affect the journey of our case,” he said in the court today.

Therefore, Iralizam wanted the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) to take stern actions against individuals who repeat the offence.

He said, those who made slanderous, sub judice and contempt of court comments can be taken actions.

“There is an act to control social media posts that violates the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“Therefore, the court wishes to warn and remind the public, especially those in this gallery, to not make slanderous, sub judice and contempt of court comments.

“If that happens, I believe that those who are authorized to press charges, especially the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) can take appropriate actions,” he said.

Izralizam reacted to the complains launched by DPP Nor Azizah Mohamad.

Azizah told the court that the comments and posts about the case involving Bella and Siti Bainun is still rampant in the social media.

“As of last night, Your Honour, there were still comments. Among them includes justice for Bella seems impossible in this world.

“Another example was, ‘what happened in the court was ridiculous’. Such comments should not happen to an ongoing case,” said Azizah.

Besides Azizah, the lawyer sent by the Crown Prince of Johor to hold watching brief for the case, Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu also raised the issue.

According to him, the defence counsel also made such comments and posts on the case in the social media. -MalaysiaGazette
