Almost half million people have been vaccinated – Dr Adham

KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has recorded 452,919 individuals who have received their Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday.

Its Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba said that from that amount, 422,058 have received their first injection, meanwhile, 30,861 have completed their second dose.

The people in Selangor led the leader board as the state recorded the most number of people receiving their first dose of vaccine with 55,763 individuals and 1,017 have received their second dose. This is followed by Perak (49,053 / 2,363), Kuala Lumpur (36,616 / 2,722) and Pahang (33,257 / 3,677).

In Johor, 33,257 have received their first dose while 2,609 have received their second dose. Penang (29,568 / 721), Kedah (26,287 / 1,896), Kelantan (19,716 / 1,879), Terengganu (19,090 / 442), Negeri Sembilan (17,884 / 530), Melaka (10,727 / 367), Perlis (9,526 / 504) and Putrajaya (4,605 / 519).

Meanwhile, in East Malaysia, Sabah has recorded 40,842 individuals who have received their first dose of vaccine and 1,167 individuals who have received their second dose. On the other hand, 36,913 individuals in Sarawak have received their first dose of vaccine while 9,537 have completed their second dose of vaccine. Labuan (2,342 / 911).

He also urged the public to register themselves to get the Covid-19 vaccine through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme which will begin from April until August through the MySejahtera application, http://vaksincovid.gov.myHotline 1800888828 and their nearest government Health Clinics.

According to Dr Adham, the people may also understand about the high risk groups that require vaccination besides the contraindications of the vaccine through the website. –MalaysiaGazette
