MOH investigates allegation that its staff die from Covid-19 vaccination

PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has started an investigation on the allegation that several of its staff have died from taking the Covid-19 vaccine.

The issue was made viral in the social media and became a public debate, said the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) in a statement today.

According to the NPRA, it will announce the result of investigation to the public after they completed the investigation.

“The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme has begun in Malaysia on 24 February 2021 with its First Phase. It involved the vaccination for the frontliners such as healthcare workers, workers in the essential services and defence.

“The Phase 2 of the vaccination which started on 19 April 2021 would involve the remaining of the people from Phase 1, senior citizens aged 60 years and above, high risk group with chronic diseases and people with disabilities (OKU).

“At the moment, no Covid-19 vaccine death has been reported,” it said in the statement.

Therefore, the NPRA, through the MOH requested the public not to share unverified information.

“Such sharing would confuse the public,” it said.
