KUALA LUMPUR – The police planned to conduct nine roadblocks in the capital city and four in Putrajaya to monitor the compliance on standard operating procedures (SOP) and inter-district travel ban enforced by the government.
However, the number of officers involved in the roadblocks will be determined soon.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said, the nine roadblocks are vital in ensuring compliance and enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in the capital until 20 May.
“At the moment, we have not finalise on the number of members who will be placed at the roadblocks. We are in the midst of discussion. We will also be getting the assistance from other enforcement agencies,” he said in a news conference today.
According to Azmi, the agencies involved will be having a meeting today.
“We will determine the number of officers involved after the meeting this evening.
“We will also coordinate the roadblocks at the borders of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor for MCO 3.0 and we will tightened the level of compliance control without compromise.
“Give us some time to coordinate our actions so that we can organise its enforcement in a more systematic and strict manner,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
