RAWANG – 10 compounds have been issued to the hosts and guests for violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) of Aidilfitri Celebration during the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 in an inspection conducted by the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD) today.
The Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Arifai Tarawe said, the two houses involved were located in Kampung Kenanga and Rawang Perdana.
“At the first house, we have fined three individuals namely, the host and two guests and then, we moved on to Rawang Perdana and found out that a house was receiving guests.
“Seven guests from various areas visited that house and we have issued the compound, including to the host. We have issued 10 compounds in total and each costs RM2,000.
“The compound issued was RM2,000 and not RM25,000 as made viral in the social media,” he told the journalists after the Aidilfitri SOP observation operation.
Besides Rawang, the three hour monitoring operation also involved the Kampung Sungai Pusu and Sri Gombak area.
Commenting further, Arifai said, during the inspection, the host said that he was confused about the Aidilfitri SOP announcement.
“When asked, he said that he was confused with the Aidilfitri SOP, that was why made the raya visit.
“Some guests came from Ulu Yam, Country Homes and other areas,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arifai said that generally, based on the monitoring conducted by the police, the SOP compliance among the residents in Gombak was satisfactory.
“I would also like to emphasize that the police is always conducting operations to monitor the SOP during festive seasons.
“There is no need to visit one another as we are afraid that the virus would spread.
“Thus, anyone with information about Aidilfitri SOP violation on visitation, feast or visiting graveyard may lodge a report to the Gombak IPD Operation Room at 03-6126 2222,” he said. – Malaysia Gazette
