KUALA LUMPUR – Covid-19 death toll continued to climb with the latest record of 47 deaths today, the highest in Malaysia to date.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) recorded 18 deaths in Selangor, five each in Sarawak and Penang. Meanwhile, four deaths were recorded in Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan. Perak and Pahang recorded three deaths each while Kedah and Negeri Sembilan recorded one Covid-19 death respectively.
Meanwhile, according to the Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, 3,497 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the disease today, shifting the cumulative recoveries to 432,600 cases.
He added, 531 are currently being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 277 cases required respiratory support.
At the same time, he said, 19 new Covid-19 clusters have been identified by the MOH. Seven of them involves work place infections, five from religious activities and three clusters involved education institutions.
