Fully booked, many disappointed over AstraZeneca vaccine

KUALA LUMPUR – In less than one and a half hours, the reservation for 1 million AstraZeneca vaccine that was opened at 12.00 noon was closed at around 1.15 pm.

The registration was opened for Malaysians aged 18 years and above in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Sarawak.

Too many people were disappointed after they failed to register for the precious vaccine despite 1 million slots were allocated and expressed their disappointment and anger in the social media over.

An observation by MalaysiaGazette in Twitter found that the most common problem was that they were unable to click on the state button. It was unresponsive and some even experience errors.

Some of the people also observed that the reservation slots were already filled up within 50 minutes after they were opened for booking.

Despite the date and location chosen was green (available), upon making the selection, they received a notification stating that the selection is fully booked. The similar thing happened even after refreshing the browser.

Many also questioned if the reservation was truly full or it had to be shut down due to problems with the system. Some slammed the government for being incompetent and it was a waste of time.

In the midst of chaos, some kind netizens also offered solutions to overcome technical problem in selecting location for vaccination.

Nevertheless, within a short span of time, a notice of reservation is closed was displayed on the vaccination booking page. -MalaysiaGazette
