Just a routine weekly pre-Cabinet meeting – Istana Negara

KUALA LUMPUR – Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has granted an audience to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for a pre-Cabinet meeting at Istana Negara today.

According to the official Instagram account of Istana Negara, the session took place for an hour beginning 8.00 am this morning.

It said, the pre-Cabinet meeting is among the weekly activity or main routine of Al-Sultan Abdullah, where His Majesty would exchange views with the Prime Minister on matters and issues related to the government.

Media practitioners have gathered before the gate of Istana Negara early this morning after hearing rumours that main political party leaders will be having an audience with the King today.

In less than two hours after Muhyiddin left Istana Negara, the President of PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at around 10.35 am.

Besides Anwar, the President of Parti Amanah Negara, Mohamad Sabu is also scheduled to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong today. Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of DAP, Lim Guan Eng is expected to arrive at the Istana Negara this evening.

Besides that, the Chairman of Parti Pejuang, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and the President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are scheduled to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow.

Earlier, the Secretary-General of PAS Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan verified that its party President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had received an invitation to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong this week. – MalaysiaGazette
