KUALA LUMPUR – The Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) will be implemented in 34 sub-districts in Selangor beginning this Saturday, 3 July.
According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the EMCO involves eight districts in Selangor namely, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Klang, Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor.
“Through the discussion with various agencies and based on the risk assessment by MOH, the National Security Council has decided to implement the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in the sub-districts of Selangor and several localities in the FT Kuala Lumpur for 14 days beginning 3 July 2021 until 16 July 2021,” Ismail Sabri said in a statement today.
The 34 sub-districts are Petaling, Damansara, Sungai Buloh, Bukit Raja in Petaling District; Hulu Langat, Ampang, Cheras, Kajang, Semenyih, Beranang in Hulu Langat district; Dengkil, Labu and Sepang in the Sepang district.
Four other districts are Gombak with Batu, Rawang, Setapak, Hulu Klang and Kuang sub-districts; Kuala Langat district encompasses the sub-districts of Tanjung 12 (1), Tanjung 12 (2), Teluk Panglima Garang, Morib, Bandar, Jugra and Batu; the Klang district encompasses of Kapar and Klang; Kuala Selangor district includes three sub-districts of Ijok, Bestari Jaya and Jeram. Finally, the Hulu Selangor district with Serendah, Rasa, Ulu Yam and Batang Kali sub-districts.
Meanwhile, the EMCO is also implemented on 14 areas in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur namely, the Semarak People’s Housing Project (PPR), Batu Muda PPR, Wangsa Maju Section 2 Flat, Wangsa Maju Section 1 Flat, Kampung Padang Balang, Taman Koperasi Polis (Phase 1 & 2), Sri Sabah Flat, Kampung Puah, Kampung Baru Air Panas PPR, Desa Pandan Flat (Including Baiduri & Delima), Kampung Batu Muda, Kerinchi PPR, Bandar Baru Sentul and Taman Ikan Emas.
According to Ismail, all routes in the EMCO area will be cordoned off and guarded by the police.
The Minister of Defence also said that all residents in EMCO area are not allowed to leave their homes.
Only one person from a household is allowed to leave home to purchase essential items within the 10 kilometre radius.
“No unnecessary movement outside the residential area after 8.00pm, with the exception of emergency cases or after getting the approval of PDRM.
“Only essential sectors are allowed to operate from 8.00 am until 8.00 pm such as utilities, cleaning and sewerage,” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
