KUALA LUMPUR – The Member of Parliament of Gua Musang, Tengku Razeleigh Hamzah has made a formal request to the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat to shift his seat to the Independent bloc as he does not support the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.

Since the beginning, he has never supported or stood with the government set up using the Perikatan Nasional brand.

“With respect, I would like to inform that I do not wish to continue sitting on the seat allocated for me at the Dewan Rakyat together with the rest of the Members of Parliament placed in that group, as if I am supporting the existing government,” he said in a letter addressed to the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Datuk Seri Azhar Azizan Harun dated yesterday (26 July 2021).

In that letter, Tengku Razaleigh who is fondly known as Ku Li said that he does not know if the Members of Parliament (MPs) from his party (UMNO) has dealt with the Speaker on the placement of their seats in Dewan Rakyat.

“Regardless of what they do, gladly, I would like to request to change to other appropriate seat, consistent with the spirit of Barisan Nasional / UMNO.

“Especially to my voters, UMNO members and Malaysians, they should not think that I am a supporter of this failed government,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
