KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has interviewed three Members of Parliament (MPs) from DAP on corruption allegation.
The anti-graft enforcer said that the trio were called for an interview over allegation of being offered money and position by certain quarters to support the Perikatan Nasional Government.
“The MACC has met the three DAP Members of Parliament to get further information on the allegation.
“At the moment, the MACC is unable to identify the actual owner of the phone number that sent out the WhatsApp message to those Members of Parliament,” it said in a statement today.
However, MACC gives its guarantee that it will continue its investigation and hopes that the public will not make speculations on the issue.
Earlier, the Ipoh Barat MP, M. Kula Segaran alleged that he was offered money and position as a minister in exchange for his support to the PN government.
The offer was made via WhatsApp message to his Private Secretary, Jeremy Chuah’s phone on 6 August. Among the offers include monetary reward, position as a minister, full allowance for the Ipoh Barat constituency and other incentives. –MalaysiaGazette
