KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah ordered the soon to be appointed new Prime Minister (PM) to motion for a confidence vote at the Dewan Rakyat as soon as possible.
The Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said in a statement that His Majesty gave the order so that the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia can prove his legitimacy after getting the majority support from the members of Dewan Rakyat.
“As the Supreme Head of the Country, His Majesty will try his best in executing his duty as a Constitutional King based on the Supremacy of Constitution and Sovereignty of the Law.
“His Majesty will chair the Malay Rulers Conference to discuss on the current issues this Friday,” he added.
His Majesty also ordered for all 220 Members of Parliament (MP) to submit their statutory declarations (SD) by nominating a member of Dewan Rakyat they trust as the new Prime Minister by 4.00 pm today. –MalaysiaGazette
