KUALA LUMPUR – The Federal Government and opposition, Pakatan Harapan (PH) have created national history by signing the Transformation and Political Stability Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the MoU forms a powerful and steady bi-partisan cooperation by upholding the spirit of Keluarga Malaysia.
He said, the cooperation is in line with the decree of Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah during the opening of the First Meeting of the Fourth Term of 14th Parliament sitting this morning.
“The Keluarga Malaysia spirit emphasizes on unity, accordance and togetherness. This is expressed in the MoU by the government and PH this evening,” he said in a media release today.
Ismail Sabri, along with the party leaders of PH, namely, the President of PKR Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Secretary-General of DAP Lim Guan Eng, President of Amanah Mohamad Sabu and the President of United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau signed the MoU at the Banquet Hall of Parliament today.
According to him, the transformation introduced by the government not only drives great governance in fighting Covid-19 and economic recovery, it is also a catalyst of conducive investment climate, thus, driving strong economic growth for the welfare of Keluarga Malaysia.
He said, the Transformation and Political Stability MoU encompasses the Enhancement of Covid-19 Plan, Administrative Transformation, Parliament Renewal, Judiciary Institution Independence, Malaysia Agreement MA63 and the formation of Pemandu Committee.
The government is confident that the MoU is not only able to put aside political differences but it may also ensure a holistic and inclusive national recovery.
“I thank everyone who have decided to put aside differences in political ideologies to join hands in driving economic stability and the welfare of Keluarga Malaysia,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
