IGP Acryl Sani’s service extended for 2 more years

KUALA LUMPUR – The service of Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has been extended for two more years beginning 4 October 2021 until 3 October 2023.

Acryl Sani, 59, was supposed to retire in early October.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin handed the appointment letter to Acryl Sani at the Bukit Aman Police Headquarters today.

Also present at the ceremony was the Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said and the Deputy IGP, Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim.

In a special news conference, Hamzah said that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Seri Paduka Baginda Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has given His Majesty’s consent to the reappointment of IGP, at the advice of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Datuk Seri Acryl Sani.

“His Majesty has given his consent to extend the service of Datuk Seri Acryl Sani as the Inspector-General of Police in a two-years contract from 4 October 2021 until 3 October 2023.

“I am confident that this appointment would drive the spirit to all members of the force to continue working with the IGP, whom, we all know is doing his best for the country,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
