KUALA LUMPUR – The Menteri Besar of Selangor, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari strongly denied that he has been receiving monthly payments from illegal gambling syndicates.
In a statement, he rubbished the claims made by Twitter handle, @edisi_siasatmy, calling them baseless.
“I strongly deny the baseless accusation that I have been receiving monthly payment from illegal gambling syndicates,” he wrote.
Earlier, the Twitter handle accused Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua State Assemblyman for receiving RM150,000 per month from illegal gambling syndicates. The money is allegedly used to fund his political activities.

Nevertheless, the account owner also gave a quick response towards Amirudin’s denial. It said that Amirudin’s denial was expected. However, it also asked the people in Selangor to evaluate the illegal gambling activities in their area.
“ES knew that he would deny this but the people of Selangor, look at your area and honestly ask yourself if the gambling centres in your area are still active?
“The enforcers will come immediately if an old makcik sells things by the roadside without license but why can’t you see these gambling dens?” it questioned. -MalaysiaGazette
