All 6 Melaka UMNO Divisions reject Bersatu

MELAKA – All six Melaka UMNO Divisions emphasized their decision to reject any cooperation with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in Perikatan Nasional (PN) to face the Melaka State Election (PRN) on 20 November.

The Deputy Communications Chairman of Melaka UMNO, Datuk Seri Mohamad Ali Mohamad said, on the contrary, the Melaka UMNO members would continue to strengthen their ties with PAS in Muafakat Nasional (MN).

“Our stand is clear. All Division leaders and UMNO from Melaka will not work with Bersatu in Melaka state election.

“What we want is the cooperation in strengthening Muafakat Nasional with PAS,” he said during a news conference at Klebang today.

Also present at the news conference are the Kota Melaka UMNO Division Leader, Datuk Abdul Razak Abd Rahman; Hang Tuah Jaya UMNO Division Leader, Datuk Mohd Ridzuan Mohd Ali; Alor Gajah UMNO Deputy Division Leader, Datuk Rospandi Leman; and the Kota Melaka UMNO Youth Chief, Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halim.

Elaborating further, Mohamad Ali, who is also the Tangga Batu UMNO Division Leader said that they have informed Prime Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakon on the rejection of Bersatu from all six UMNO Division Leaders during a meeting in Masjid Tanah last night.

When asked about the reaction of the Prime Minister, who is also the Vice-President of UMNO, Mohamad Ali said that the Bera Member of Parliament will think about it.

“The Prime Minister will think about it, but this is our stand.

“Thus, no matter what happens in Melaka, we will not cooperate with Bersatu,” he said. -MalaysiaGazette
