KUALA LUMPUR – The government’s decision of not allowing the second withdrawal of i-Citra has garnered the attention of former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
In his Facebook statement, Najib urged the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to not listen to the advice from Finance Minister, Datuk Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
“Don’t listen to the advice from the outdated PN (Perikatan Nasional) Finance Minister. Listen to the plights to the people. The last special withdrawal.
“After that, focus on rebuilding the low savings of depositors in their EPF. There are many ways,” said Najib.
Najib is among the individuals who urge Ismail Sabri to reconsider allowing the i-Citra withdrawal from the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).
Yesterday, the UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki hoped that the statement was not the final decision from Ismail Sabri and Tengku Zafrul.
Blatantly, Asyraf asked Ismail Sabri not to listen to Tengku Zafrul’s advice on the matter.
“Don’t need to listen to the advice from the Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
“The reasons he gave to deny EPF withdrawal are just the same as the excuses he gave us in defence of his opinion of not allowing the withdrawal during MCO 1.0,” he said.
Ismail Sabri said yesterday, that the government has no intention to allow the RM10,000 i-Citra withdrawal despite political pressure to do so after the country was hit by the recent big flood. -MalaysiaGazette
