KUALA LUMPUR – The Vaccinated Travel Lane (Air) (VTL Air) between Singapore and Penang will commence on 16 March 2022.
The VTL Air initiative enables fully vaccinated travellers to travel between Penang and Singapore using the predetermined airlines without quarantine on arrival.
Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said that the VTL initiative would play an important role in strengthening the continuity of Malaysia-Singapore air transport.
Besides that, it would also help to recover the economy and business network between the countries, especially the badly affected tourism sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The VTL initiative which started between the Changi Airport and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) had recorded 82,906 arrivals from Singapore as of 28 February 2022.
The VTL flights for this new route will begin with four flights per day operated by the Malaysian and Singaporean airlines.
According to him, the sales of VTL flight tickets will be opened by the airlines soon.
Further information on the pre-departure and arrival terms and conditions can be obtained via the Malaysia Immigration Department at www.imi.gov.my, meanwhile, the VTL travel requirements to Singapore can be obtained via https://safetravel.ica.gov.sg. – MalaysiaGazette
