KUALA LUMPUR – The heavy rain which lasted for several hours had caused flash flood in several areas in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.
The rain which started at around 3.00 pm had also caused several main roads to be submerged in water, causing traffic congestion.
According to the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), the traffic from the Loke Yew Toll Plaza to Salak Selatan have been diverted to Jalan Istana following the flash flood in Salak Selatan and Kuchai Lama.
Several areas at Kampung Baru also experienced flash flood as the water level rose.
Meanwhile, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Raja Laut and the areas surrounding KLCC and Masjid Jamek were also hit by the flash flood.
Several pictures and videos went viral in the social media, showing rows of vehicles being stuck in the traffic and parking lot as the water level rose. -MalaysiaGazette
