Malaysia will not entertain Sulu’s claims – PM

KUALA LUMPUR – The Government of Malaysia will not entertain any claims from any party on Sabah.

He said, Sabah is recognised by the United Nations (UN) and international community as part of the Federation of Malaysia since 16 September 1963.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the government views the sovereignty of the country seriously, including the sovereignty and wholes of Sabah in Malaysia.

“The demands by those who claim that they are the heirs of Sulu Sultan on the Malaysian Government through the international arbitration proceeding is invalid and against the law.

“The appointment of arbitrator, Dr. Gonzalo Stampa was revoked by the Madrid High Court on 29 June 2021, causing all decisions made by Dr. Gonzalo Stampa to be invalid, including the Final Award issued on 28 February 2022,” he said in a statement today. -MalaysiaGazette
