KUALA LUMPUR – The police had arrested a food delivery man for molesting a woman at the carpark of Tamarind Square commercial centre in Cyberjaya yesterday.
The 20-year-old suspect was arrested at Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong at 11.00 am this morning.
The Sepang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof verified the arrest stating that the suspect confessed to the crime during the investigation.
“Based on the inspection on CCTV footages, the suspect arrived at the Tamarind Square area at around 1.57 pm riding a red Yamaha Lagenda 115 ZR motorcycle.
“The suspect parked his motorcycle at the basement carpark of Tamarind Square and walked towards the walkway of the building.
“Based on the information obtained, the suspect is a GrabFood rider,” he said in a statement today.
Based on the information, the police went to the suspect’s address and arrested him, along with the case items used during the incident.
Earlier, Wan Kamarul said that the police are hunting the suspect for molesting a 27-year-old personal assistant at the location.
Upon arrival, the victim was greeted by a man who wanted to help her keep her keep her things in the car at the parking lot of the commercial centre, besides wanting to use the trolley of the woman.
However, the woman rejected his help but the man insisted and took her things and put them into her car.
Suddenly, the suspect groped the victim’s butt and ran off.
Based on the police report, the suspect was wearing all black and wearing a black sling bag. He also has black hair and dark coloured skin besides having the cockeyed feature.
The case is investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for molest. -MalaysiaGazette
