KUALA LUMPUR – Fugitive businessman, Nicky Liow Soon Hee has turned himself in to the police after being on the run for over a year.

The Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) Director Commissioner Datuk Mohd Kamarudin Md Din confirmed the arrest stating that Nicky, 34, the founder of Winner Dynasty Group was arrested at about 11.00 am by the Bukit Aman CCID.

“Liow Soon Hee @ Nicky Liow was arrested by the Commercial CID after he voluntarily surrendered to the police today.

“Nicky Liow will be brought to the Shah Alam Court on 12 April 2022 to face 26 counts of charges under Section 4(1)(a) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act (AMLATFA) 2001,” he said in a brief statement today.

He added, the CCID has filed the charges under Section 4(1)(a) of the same act at the Shah Alam Court at the order of the Attorney-General’s Chamber (AGC). The police then obtained an arrest warrant on him for further action.

Nicky was hunted by the Johor Police in a separate operation and raid at Puchong, Selangor, where they also arrested 12 other individuals including one with Datuk Seri title.

The syndicate was suspected of involvement in various online scam.

In March last year, the police arrested 68 individuals, believed to be members of Nicky’s team and seized 16 luxury vehicles including Rolls Royce, and foreign currencies totalling RM7 million in 70 raids.

Nicky was previously arrested for injuring two Malaysian Volunteer Corps Department (RELA) members who were on duty at the Kou Ong Yah Temple, Jalan Merdeka, Kampung Baru Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, five years ago.

Nicky became a police fugitive after 68 of its members were arrested in Op Pelican 3.0 which started from 20 to 28 March last year. -MalaysiaGazette
